Mould Inspections

Normally, our everyday exposure to airborne fungi appears to present little or no risk to our health. However, the airborne fungi in our buildings can develop into a very different composition to that normally found outdoors for a variety of reasons.

This is particularly the case in buildings with moisture damage. This can create and indoor environment which can adversely affect our health.

Fungal growth in buildings is now widely accepted as a major cause of adverse impacts on individuals and may increase the severity of symptoms related to sick building syndrome (SBS)

The following are typical complaints relating to odours or health symptoms reported by either occupants or mould remediation workers that may be due to the presence of mould growth.

Discomfort, Eye Irritations, Runny Nose, Sneezing, Coughing, Nausea/Diarrhoea, Headaches, Fatigue, Inability to Concentrate, Constriction of air passages, Skin Irritations, Congestion, Shortness of Breath, Wheezing, Aggravation of Asthma.

Hamley can assist with a full inspection and report of the suspect mould areas of your building and if required, chemically test or take air samples for assessment in a laboratory.
